Triada Samaras Artist

What is an inter/trans-disciplinary artist? One who leaps from here to there and back again. One who can always see the big picture. One for whom the world is equally compelling and revolting, revealing and concealing. One who sees the personal and political, creative, social and environmental as often one, and for whom a single medium and point of view is never enough. Triada Samaras www.triadasamaras.com

About Me

My photo
Triada Samaras
I am an interdisciplinary artist who has exhibited widely over the past 25 years both nationally and internationally. Currently i work primarily with paint: acrylic, oil and watercolor on canvas, wood and paper. I create both outdoors (en plein air) and in the studio with photographs that I take on location. I also write poetry. In 2021, my Long Covid diagnosis became a catalyst in my work for new themes and directions. Specifically, it has evolved my creative thinking to deliberately focus more on using my artmaking for personal transformation and healing. Having a chronic illness has inspired me to envision my work as an artist and poet in broader and more integrated ways. I always remain open to and curious about changes in my art practices as I develop as a human being. Triada Samaras 2025
